▷Just Say No: Kitchen Trends On The Way Out San Diego
Everybody has experienced wanting to try out a new and trendy home decor idea after seeing it on Pinterest, Instagram, or in a magazine. Unfortunately, the novelty eventually fades. A list of kitchen fixtures to get rid of has been put together by interior designer Esther Trattner of Pro Services General Contractors of San Diego so that you can continue to enjoy your kitchen long after fashions change.
No Knobs, No More
Just Say No: Outdated Kitchen Trends San Diego Cabinet Doors without handles have become fashionable in ultra-modern kitchens with flat, typically shiny slab doors. The problem is that cleaning supplies, food particles, and fingerprints gather on push-latch doors. Particularly on glossy cabinets, dirt stands out like a sore thumb. The finish can be damaged by the additional cleaning needed to keep the doors in excellent condition. More useful options include chamfered door edges or low-profile edge handles.
If you still want a seamless appearance, pick tiny knobs that match your cabinet’s color.
Get Rid Of Blue Cabinetry
In general, you should avoid choosing this well-liked alternative unless you’ve always wanted blue cabinets. Cabinetry in blue has been fashionable since 2020, but designers are currently favoring green, off-white, matte white, black, and wood finishes. Timeless finishes are a better long-term investment because cabinets are the most expensive part of your kitchen.
Say Good-Bye to Sink Skirts
One “cottage-core” kitchen style that is quickly losing favor is sink skirts. These tiny curtains are easily creased and require frequent washing, bleaching, and ironing to keep them looking good. Furthermore, curious animals and kids can easily rip the curtains apart or have access to whatever is kept under the sink. Cabinet doors are, to put it simply, a better and safer choice.
Forego Flip-up Doors
Flip-up doors appear to be taking the place of conventional side-hinged doors or open shelves. The substantial flip-up mechanism needed to support these doors, however, might eat up important cabinet space. They may also malfunction and cost a lot to replace. Lastly, flip-up doors over microwaves and pantries are easy to open with a tap but much harder to close when the open door is so close to the ceiling!
